United Concordia is pleased to serve the dental insurance needs of University of Virginia faculty and staff and their families. University of Virginia and United Concordia are partnering because we care about your family's and your oral health. Oral health problems often tax the immune system, which can expose you to greater risk of illness and infection. To help maintain a healthier smile and a healthier you, we encourage you to follow the advice of your dentist and the American Dental Association. Your dental plan emphasizes preventive care to help avoid costly procedures commonly caused by delayed treatment.

Your dental plan emphasizes preventive care to help avoid costly procedures commonly caused by delayed treatment. Review your covered dental benefits including preventive exams, cleanings, and x-rays by consulting your UVa Health Plan Description of Benefits booklet or visiting the UVa HR website at http://www.hr.virginia.edu.

The UVa Health Plan's Dental Program is designed to minimize your out-of-pocket costs by giving you access to more than 134,000 total dentist locations nationwide in United Concordia's Advantage Plus network. If your dentist does not currently participate in our network, you may still use your dentist but your out-of-pocket expenses are likely to be higher. Visiting one of our participating dentists helps lower out-of-pocket costs and eliminates the need to fill out claim forms.

In addition to providing access to our dentist network, United Concordia processes your claims, responds to your questions, and coordinates all other aspects of dental plan administration.
