Free Dental Care Provided to 50 Texas Children

United Concordia Dental teamed up with the American Dental Association (ADA), Dental Health Arlington, the Forth Worth District Dental Society, Texas Oral Health Coalition and more than 20 local dentists on February 6 to provide free dental care for 50 children at an estimated value of nearly $11,000.

The local children, previously identified with severe dental needs, received free dental services from local dentists who volunteered their time to provide the care. Dental hygiene students from Texas Woman's University also provided instruction on how to keep teeth healthy for a lifetime. Members of the University of Texas at Arlington basketball team also were on hand on to sign pennants and encourage the children to brush their teeth regularly, as well as eat a healthy diet.

Additionally, Fort Worth District Dental Society Executive Director Liz Lucas and President Dr. Joe Cerce met with Texas Oral Health Coalition members, Dr. Rex Law and Dr. Anthony Bolin, and State Rep. Dr. Diane Patrick to discuss the very serious state of oral health in Texas.
