Children from Boys and Girls Clubs of Buffalo Receive Free Screenings

On February 24, more than 80 children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Buffalo received free dental and vision screenings, thanks to United Concordia Dental, the Buffalo Bills, Davis Vision and the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine.

Six dental students, under the supervision of Dr. Jude Fabiano, associate dean for clinical affairs at the state university, provided dental screenings and oral health education. Children identified as having a need for follow-up vision services received a voucher for a complimentary eye examination and a free pair of eyeglasses from a local Empire Vision Center retail store. Children identified as having a need for follow-up dental care received referral information.
