The Washington County Partners for a Healthy Community helped those in need on June 20 by hosting a day of free health screenings (glucose/sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and body mass index) and dental care (screenings, cleanings and restorative procedures) at Community Medical Services in Uniontown. The event was open to children and adults who are uninsured or have minimal health or dental coverage.

Event partners included Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Concordia Dental, Community Medical Services and Young Inspiration. On-site medical professionals provided free consultations, and information on Pennsylvania's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), adultBasic and Medicaid programs administered by Highmark also was available.
