On Saturday, March 21 the Harrisburg Area Dental Society (HADS) and United Concordia provided free dental exams and oral hygiene education to 41 children in Kunkel Gallery of Whitaker Center. Another 45 children received oral hygiene education only. Goody bags of toothbrushes, dental floss, and oral hygiene information was provided be provided by United Concordia as well. Floyd Stokes, author of Say Ahh..The Teeth Book, read his book to children and encouraged them to brushes regularly.

The HADS and United Concordia are committed to providing children with access to dental professionals. The free screening at Whitaker Center provides an opportunity for young guests to not only get an exam, but also learn about the importance of good oral health. Children determined to be in need of immediate care will be referred to a free restorative clinic on Saturday, March 28 at Harrisburg Area Community College, sponsored by HADS and United Concordia.

These dental awareness programs are two of three events, which United Concordia will conduct in partnership with HADS in Harrisburg. United Concordia will conduct 60 dental screenings within their market areas across the U.S.
