Definitions

Trading Partner - A Trading Partner is defined as a United Concordia customer that transmits directly to or receives electronic transactions directly from United Concordia. United Concordia Trading Partners fall into the following categories:

• Clearinghouse / Vendor / Billing Service - An entity who submits claims, or other transactions ((ASC X12, 837, 835, 276/277, 270/271), on behalf of professional or institutional providers.
  
  
• Billing Provider - A dentist who submits claims, or other transactions ((ASC X12 transactions, 837, 835, 276/277, 270/271), for services rendered directly to United Concordia.
